A small community in Northwest Kansas, Atwood offers recreation, camping, hiking and fishing at Atwood lake. In town, visit the Rawlins County Museum for a trip back in time in rural western Kansas. Enjoy the historical recreations of a beauty parlor, post office, doctor's office, dentist's office and a schoolroom. Lake Atwood has much to offer. Located on the south side of the lake is R/V camping and hook-ups, and bathrooms with showers. Nature lovers and hikers will enjoy walking the Hayden Wildlife Nature Trail. Along the ¾ mile trail, there is an observation tower, benches and interpretative signs highlighting wildlife, plant species and history of the trail and lake. Kids will also enjoy the park at the lake. In town, Atwood is located at the intersection of Hwy 36 and Hwy 25. We are also a member of the US36 Highway Association.
