Highway 36 stretches 400 miles across the state of Kansas covering 13 counties. U.S.36 Highway Association invites travelers each year on the third weekend of September to join in the US 36 Treasure Hunt. From border to border, you'll find treasures in one of the many, many garage and antique sales. The Northwest Kansas communities of St. Francis, Bird City, Atwood, Oberlin, Norton, Phillipsburg and Smith Center invite you to discover their year-round treasures along the highway. In St Francis, visit the Motorcycle Museum, or take the driving tour of the breathtaking Arikaree Breaks. Come to the Ti-State Antiquer Engine and Threshers Show in July or the Tri-State Mule & Draft Horse Show in October in Bird City. Relive the history of the Last Indian Raid in Kansas at the Last Indian Raid Museum in Oberlin. Fish or overnight at Prairie Dog State Park in Norton. Phillipsburg is home of the Kansas Biggest Rodeo and the Hansen Museum. In Smith Center you can visit the Home on the Range Cabin and the Geographic Center of the 48 contiguous states in Lebanon.
